One Year

One Year.....seriously, where did the time go?!

Cate turned one last Friday and we're still in disbelief she could be this old.

Lanny ended up with Friday off and we had a great day just being a family.

We spent some time at Toys R Us while Cate picked out a music table for her birthday, and of course we had mexican food for dinner! Cate got to celebrate with Uncle Brian and Aunt Rosie at dinner with Sprinkles Cupcakes (which were delicious!)

Cate of course made the monthly photo a bit challenging....she does NOT like to sit still. She is walking all over the place (I'll load a video if I can get it up....I'm a bit challenged with the videos).

Cate is "so big" now....she loves to show us how big she is when we ask...

Cate has developed so much over the last month, not just her walking. She mimics what we say and do, sits to read her books, retrieves certain toys when we ask. She loves to talk, she'll just chat with Maggie with in the afternoons while she walks around the living room....very entertaining for mom!

Cate's best friend Maggie....poor Maggie, she gets terrorized daily by Cate chasing her around the house, but she is so great with Cate, she never snaps and just lets her crawl ALL over her!

And she still LOVES bath time, her new tub here in Dallas is huge, and she loves to just play for as long as I'll let her.

Cate, Mom and Dad love you and can't imagine life without you!

Fourth of July

Cate and I headed over to the Pittman's house for some 4th of July fun while poor Lanny had his first call night.

Cate loved playing with Parker and all of his great toys....she chased him all over the house!

This seems like Cate is innocently trying to play with Eloise, but Cate ended up biting Eloise's toes.....yep, we're already biting, great.

Eleven Months

So, I am a little behind getting Cate's 11 month post up....things have been a bit out of sorts around here for the past month or so.....Cate was actually in Arkansas on the 23rd of June while Lanny and I were in Dallas waiting for our things to be delivered by the moving company. Well fast forward to LAST week and we finally got our things (that's right two WEEKS late).

In the meantime, we were living on a blow up bed, pack and play, and three folding chairs, so I wasn't able to get the "regular" picture we usually do for her monthly photo shoot.

This series of photos pretty much sums up Cate for the past month....mobile!

She loves to tear and eat paper, so the sign didn't stand much of a chance this month.

Cate can't seem to stay still for any length of time now, and she really didn't want the elephant to just sit upright....so she kept knocking him over when I would stand it up.

At 11 months, Cate had 6 teeth (3 top and 3 bottom) with one on top and bottom making their way through. She spent her entire time in Arkansas cruising on the furniture and dogs, trying to work her way into walking....which she promptly started doing once she arrived in Dallas (around the 25th or 26th).

Cate loves to eat....not too many things we've found yet that she doesn't like.

Cate is quite chatty, talking all the time. Right now she loves to make noises by moving her tongue back and forth. She of course loves to follow Maggie, tries to "pet" her, but we're saying the word "gentle" every time, since she more hits than pets.

It's so hard to believe that Cate is just a week away from turning 1! This time last year we were just anxiously waiting for this little one to arrive....though I guess she and the movers have the same calendar....she was almost two weeks late too!
