Seven Months

Cate turned 7 months yesterday.....where has the time gone?!
Cate has been so much fun lately, she knows exactly who mom and dad are, and gets very upset when we leave the room (sorry grandparents....she still loves you!).

She has two bottom teeth that have been impossible to photograph. Cate loves her fruit and veggies and has gotten into a routine of oatmeal and fruit in the morning and veggies and rice for dinner. I don't have a new weight on her, but I know it's got to be heavier than the 20 pounds she was at 6 months because my arms are really feeling it!
She's not quite sitting independently, but we're close. She is still rolling everywhere and doesn't seem interested in crawling. Cate LOVES to talk, really loudly. Each night when Lanny gets home, we'll be talking and Cate will start to babble, getting louder and louder until Lan stops talking to acknowledge her. Same thing goes at a resturant...but luckily the guys at El Rodeo love her, so we're still welcome there!
Cate also loves Maggie, she gets so tickled when Maggie is nearby and she's been trying to pet her more and more. She's even offered to share her toys with Maggie......we're in trouble with these two later on!

Cousin Cate

That's right! Cate is going to be a cousin next summer! Aunt Callie and Uncle Rob in California have announced their exciting news, a little one is on the way, due in late August! We're so excited for them, it's been hard to keep their secret for the past month! Cate just can't wait to show their little one the ropes (aka how to wrap mom and dad, and everyone else around your little fingers!).
Congratulations Callie and Rob, we are beyond excited for you guys! We love you!

(I had to repost this one because I wanted it to be at the top of the blog!)

Snow

Last weekend we had another round, but this one was perfect....a nice snowfall on Friday night, no ice, no freezing streets, just beautiful snow.

Our backyard Saturday morning as the sun was coming up, Lan got this before he went in to work, I only saw this in the dark as I headed in to work, but it was just as pretty.

Since both Lanny and I had to work, Aunt Suzie and Nana Julie came in town to watch (play with) Cate. Aunt Suzie built Cate her first snowman.

I just love Cate's face, she makes this "O" face all the time when she gets excited.

Happy girl with her snowman!
Thanks for coming to see us and for helping out, we had a great time with you guys!

Happy Heart Day

Cate got her first Valentine's Day flowers from her dad last weekend....the calla lillie was beautiful and Cate loved it! Of course, she wanted to put it in her mouth, but dad wouldn't let her! Her momma got a beautiful bouquet of flowers too, but we forgot to take pictures of them, and now they're just not as photogenic! Thanks Dad, we love you!

Cate made her dad a special Valentine's cake for after a long day of work....it was quite yummy, Cate is quite the cook!

You can't quite see it in this photo, but Cate's first two teeth have come in! We'll try to get a picture up soon!

Sweet Face

just because.....

For Me?

Cate enjoyed chewing on all the gifts we opened while we were in St. Louis last weekend...everything is a chew toy these days!
